UACF provides funding for improvements to Safety Town site at Greensview. The Foundation gave $12,000 for improvements to the sidewalks.
The UA Community Foundation has supported Safety Town and one of the critical ways that UA enhances safety for our children and ccommunity.
Safety Town is a one-week summer preschool offered by UA Parks and Rec at which children learn about all aspects of child safety. Approximately 500young children attend each year to learn to make wise decisions in potentially dangerous situations as well as to handle emergencies in their young lives. Students learn pedestrian and traffic safety by tri-cycling about a miniature village complete with streets, sidewalks, buildings, and stop signs.
