We recently got an application from one of our Good Neighbor Fund partners for an elderly couple in need. While putting together this grant, one of our grant recipients had a heart attack.
Sometimes we forget, not only the difficulty and sadness of tragedy, but also the stress that can come with it. This is yet another reason why Good Neighbor Fund grants are so important for our community.
Financial stress that comes up during tragedy can threaten a person that is already hurting. Thanks to our donors, we have the priveledge of helping in these situations.
Through our most recent grant, we were able to pay the mortgage and utilities bills of our neighbors in need in order to help them back on thier feet after this unexpected stress. The latest update from our grant recipients is "I am recovering very well and hopeful for the future."
